1. Scope and operator
This Privacy Policy applies to the AmicoDay iPhone app and the
AmicoDay privacy and support pages on amicoday.com.
AmicoDay is operated by GU PENGPENG (“we” or “us”).
It explains what data the app processes, why it is processed, where it is stored, how retention and deletion work, and how to contact us.
2. Data processed by the app
Depending on the features you use, AmicoDay may process on your device:
- Companion and household details: pet name, dog or cat species, breed description, birthday, adoption date, and avatar.
- Memory content: journal, photo, walk, pet-health note, and memo content; dates; favorite status; and archive status. Pet-health notes are user-entered notes and are not medical diagnosis.
- Photos: only photos you actively choose with Apple’s system photo picker. Selected memory photos and avatars are copied into app-managed local storage. Where applicable, a local Photos asset identifier is retained as a fallback.
- Subscription state: product information and Apple-verified subscription entitlement status supplied through StoreKit. We do not receive your card number or full payment credentials.
- Sync and technical state: record identifiers, update times, sync tokens, file size and integrity digests, and limited diagnostic facts such as error category, sync stage, and counts.
AmicoDay currently creates no separate AmicoDay user account, does not read contacts or precise location, and includes no advertising or third-party advertising or analytics SDK.
3. Local storage
Companion details, memories, and related metadata are saved first on your device using Apple SwiftData. Photos you add are stored as app-managed files inside the app container. Local storage is the primary mode of operation, and existing local content is intended to remain readable offline and if a subscription ends.
Device security, backups, and app-container behavior are managed by iOS, Apple, and your system settings. Protect your device passcode and Apple Account and use Apple’s available security features.
4. Optional private iCloud sync
When you have an active Apple-verified AmicoDay Pro entitlement, are signed in to an available iCloud account, and enable iCloud Sync in the app, AmicoDay uses Apple CloudKit to place companion details, memories, photos, and sync metadata in your own private iCloud database for sync and restoration across Apple devices.
Apple states that a CloudKit private database is available only to the corresponding user by default and counts against the user’s iCloud storage. AmicoDay does not send these memories to a self-hosted server. Turning sync off stops future syncing but does not automatically delete local or existing iCloud content.
5. Purchases and subscriptions
AmicoDay Pro product display, purchase, renewal, refund, subscription management, and purchase restoration are handled by Apple’s App Store and StoreKit. The app reads product information and verified entitlement status to determine access to Pro features. Apple’s own privacy policy and terms apply to Apple Account and purchase processing.
6. Diagnostics, analytics, and tracking
The app uses Apple unified logging for limited technical state such as sync stages, object counts, error codes, and irreversible digests of stable identifiers. Logging is designed not to include pet names, journal text, search terms, photo paths, payment credentials, CloudKit content payloads, or advertising identifiers.
The current release contains no third-party analytics, advertising, cross-app tracking, or data-broker service, and we do not sell personal data. Apple may process crash or performance information according to your device diagnostics and privacy settings and Apple’s policies.
7. Website and support contact
This privacy and support website is hosted on Alibaba Cloud Object Storage Service (OSS) in Hong Kong. To deliver pages, protect the service, and diagnose network problems, the hosting service may process necessary request information such as IP address, request time, browser or device type, and requested URL. This site does not intentionally set analytics cookies or load advertising or third-party analytics scripts.
If you contact us by email, we receive your email address, message, and any attachment you voluntarily provide. We use them only to respond, troubleshoot, and maintain necessary support records. Please do not send unnecessary private journal text, original photos, or sensitive information in a support email.
8. Service providers and sharing
AmicoDay relies only as necessary on:
- Apple: iOS, the system photo picker, iCloud/CloudKit, the App Store, StoreKit, and system diagnostics you control.
- Alibaba Cloud: Hong Kong OSS hosting and network delivery for the public privacy and support website.
- Microsoft Outlook: only when you email the public support address.
Except where required by law or necessary to protect users or the service, we do not provide private in-app memories to unrelated third parties or use them for advertising or marketing profiles. Any service provider processing data on our behalf is required to process it only as necessary to provide the relevant service and to provide protection no less protective than this Policy, applicable law, and Apple’s requirements.
9. Retention, archive, and deletion
- Local content remains in the app container until you clear app data or remove the app, subject to Apple system backup behavior.
- “Archive” in AmicoDay is reversible hiding, not permanent deletion.
- The current release has no in-app bulk export or physical deletion tool.
- Turning off iCloud Sync does not automatically delete existing iCloud content.
- You can use Apple’s iCloud storage management and Apple Account controls to manage corresponding iCloud data. Confirm that important memories have an acceptable backup before removing data.
- Support emails are kept only as reasonably needed to resolve the request and meet security, dispute, or legal obligations. You may ask us to delete support correspondence unless retention is legally required.
Because the current release has no AmicoDay server account, support staff cannot sign in through this website to browse or remotely delete memories stored locally or in your private CloudKit database.
10. Your choices
- Use the local journal without enabling iCloud Sync.
- Turn off future syncing in Settings → Privacy & Local Data.
- Manage subscriptions, photo selection, iCloud, and system diagnostics through Apple system interfaces.
- Archive or restore memories, understanding that archive is not permanent deletion.
- Contact us about data handling or deletion of support correspondence.
11. Children’s privacy
AmicoDay is a private companion journal and is not designed specifically for children. We do not create an app account or actively request a child’s contact information through the app. Contact us if you believe child-related personal information was provided through support and should not be retained.
12. Security and policy updates
We use measures proportionate to the app’s scope, including app containers, local-path validation, atomic file writes, and file-size and SHA-256 integrity checks for CloudKit media. No device, network, or cloud service can guarantee absolute security.
We will update this page and its date if features, service providers, or legal requirements materially change. Where appropriate, material changes will also be described in app update notes or another reasonable notice.
